Smart 3G, no luck again?

When I successfully configured my 3G connection, I got an acceptable speed at 120+ kbps, according to GlobeQuest bandwidth meter utility. I thought it would always be like that, though I know it depends on the signal strength.

When I tried to connect yesterday, I knew that my assmption was wrong. Before I connected to the internet, I made it sure first that my phone has a good signal. After getting connected, the signal started to drop down and after every couple of minutes, it gets disconnected. What I noticed is that whenever I get dc’d, the signal will start to go up again. Wierd! I tried again this morning but still I got no luck.

This is very different compared to last time. I was able to download in a fairly fast speed, I can visit your blogs without getting disconnected.

Should I call their 24-hour and another 24-hour customer service again?

How to Configure SE K608i 3G for Windows XP

After so many calls I made with Smart Wireless agents, after all opened tickets were closed unresolved, I finally got my 3G working. And I figured it out myself with the help of a lady on the phone whom I forgot her name. Who are you again?

Because I got fed-up of those many 24-hours call waiting suggestions I heard from Smart’s Customer Care? Agents, I decided to not call them again regarding this issue. I know, that there’s nothing I will get from them. I doubt that they know what to do with my problem or maybe they just ignore the problem. I even don’t believe that they even tried to call me when they said they did except the one missed call I saw the other day after my nth follow up.

The last time I spoke with a CSA, she suggested me to follow phone instructions. She thinks that I didn’t do that? She explained some several other steps and some configuration settings idea which I think I already knew but I still listened to her. And while listening, an idea started to formulate on my mind. Thanks for your time telling those things. You surely helped me with my problem. If I did not let you talk and talk and talk, I might probably have opened another nth number of tickets that will be closed unresolved again.

The Coco Fruit. Childhood Chronicles Part II

The photo was taken during my last visit
in Batangas at
our Captain’s rest house on
a hill.

Another part of my childhood, I am sharing with you now. This part is called, ‘The Coco Fruit’. From the most useful tree, The Coco Tree’… that bears the largest nut, ‘The Coconut. Well, one of the largest nuts.

One of our favorite hangout during weekends, apart from the dust and sea, is the top of the coco tree. We don’t have our own coconut farm; just trying our luck on some others farms. :D One of our favorite target is Kakang Bina’s farm.

Why?

Ala Eh, Smart’s Service Is Very Poor

Since I had my Smart Gold Plan (SE K608i 3G Phone) last year, I already had a couple of tickets opened with them. At first it was quite satisfying, and then little by little it started to get worse.

And then even worse to worst. I reported an issue last April 4 2007 regarding modem setup for my SE K608i phone for use on Windows XP. I’ve used this feature before, I enjoyed the connection speed, but there’s something wrong with my current settings and I want to know what. So I called *888, the Smart hotline number.

God Is The Only Answer

This Hyperventilation thing, it happened again. My wife already headed off to the office this morning. I am on night shift again so we’re not going to office together. She left at 7:00 AM, and she was fine. Me and Sam were still sleepy so we went back to bed to catch another sleep.

I heard someone calling me, I thought I was just dreaming, and I saw my wife. I was not expecting she’ll come back. I let her in and asked why she returned. But before she can say her first word, her tears fell down. She hardly can catch air to breathe. I let her sit and applied the first aid we know. Get a brown bag or envelop or paper bag and breathe in there. But it seems that it’s not taking effect after all. I laid her down the bed and kept telling her to relax, don’t panic, and gently massaging her chest. But she was getting even worse. It’s like she was choking and I really didn’t know what to do. So even though I wasn’t sure, I gave her a ‘mouth-to-mouth resuscitation’, thinking that it would of any help. I did it 3 times but it’s not helping at all. So I really have no more ideas in mind. I can’t just take her to the hospital since there’s no one to take care of Sam, and she’s still in panic. I need her to calm down first. All I can do that time is to hug her tight. And I called Him, our Lord, and asked him to make my wife feel well for I really do not know anything else to make her calm down. In less than a minute, my wife started to breathe easier. Until she’s really better and we headed to the hospital.

Thanks very much, God.

At the hospital…

First, we claimed the results of her 2D Echo examination she had the other week. The result seems normal, but we have to see her Cardiologist for additional opinion, maybe. We headed to his office but her secretary told us to come back in the afternoon, 3PM.

We went back home first and waited until afternoon. Watched a movie, ate lunch, visit Sam at her grandma’s place, then went back to the hospital. We were there at around 3:15 PM but the doctor is not yet in. We waited 1 1/2 hrs more and Leah was called. So we went in, just to her that the results were indeed normal. We wanted to know what triggered the problem and the doctor just said that it’s maybe because Leah has some problems. We asked him what to do in case it happened again and he told the brown bag thing. That’s it. Less than 20 secs, we’re out of the room again.

After all, we still don’t know the root cause. I just wish that it won’t happen anymore. God, please help us.
