Antik’s, The Pirated Andok’s
I took this photo during our weekend trip to Batangas just recently. It really caught my attention and I made us laugh.
This chicken stand is inspired by Andok’s Lechon Manok which has been popular nowadays. Along its rivals is Baliwag Lechon Manok. I was even surprised when I knew that Antik’s also has some branches in town.
What is Lechon Manok ?
Lechon Manok is the chicken version of Lechon Baboy which is pig. Need I say more?
While Lechon Baboy is cooked on a bamboo pole, cooking Lechon Manok uses stainless rods (with 3 pointed ends to keep the chicken on its place). It takes lesser time to cook and much lesser time to eat.
Lechon Manok is popular during summer time. It is one of the most favorite picnic food. It is also one of the cheapests. If you want to save money, you can buy live chicken but you will definitely need more time to kill it and dressed it yourself.
Lechon Manok is also a very good pulutan or beer match.
Cooking Lechon Manok is just like cooking chicken barbeque. The only difference is that you have to cook it by whole.
