Century Tuna Bloggers’ Cook-off

Me and my family were at the Century Corned Tuna Cook-off for bloggers yesterday. Our friend and big time blogger ;) Abe Olandres actually forwarded the invite to us. Thanks Abe! Century Tuna is a staple in our weekly menu. Our family loves Century Tuna Lite, Century Tuna in Brine and with Calamansi variants. I also like the Century Bangus with Tausi. So you could just imagine how excited I was to attend this event. :)

Century Corned Tuna Bloggers' Cook-off

It was a Saturday morning, I checked my mails after breakfast when I saw the email from Abe. I texted April of HavocDigital (they are the ones promoting the event) and asked if we can still attend the event. When she replied yes, I finished all my chores and prepared to leave the house. The event was 3 in the afternoon at The Stock Market in Bonifacio High Street, The Fort, Global City in Taguig. Read more…

Text Messaging keeps your children healthy

As parents, we always want our children grow healthy but not fat, thin but strong. During the early years, kids are very hard to feed, specially if there are distractions around like TV and toys. Sometimes, instead of letting the kids starve because they do not want to eat the healthy food you give them, you ended up feeding less healthier food or sometimes, not healthy at all. The result is more likely that your kids grow up thin and weak or fat and unhealthy. Or the worst, obese. Their diet is one of our primary concerns.

In a study at University of North Carolina’s School of Medicine, a group of kids were asked to monitor their snack intake, TV time and activity time, and report back to the monitoring team through text messaging. The monitoring team then replies back words of encouragement like “Wow, you met your step and screen time goals – congratulations!” Another groups were asked to report via pen and paper. The result favors the first group.

On the scenario, text messaging only serves as the medium, but the main ingredient I see are the words of encouragement. There are many way to encourage your kids, however, text messaging might be the best – in this case.

All in the eyes

I saw an episode of the Sweet Life on QTV-11. The show talks about making the women feel good and look good. It is hosted by Lucy Torres-Gomez and Wilma Doesnt. The topic that day was about the different aesthetic and medical procedures to enhance the eyes.

They featured eyelash extensions. The procedure involves gluing extra long and thick eyelash strands carefully to each eyelash of the patient. The procedure takes an hour and a half to complete and the faux eyelashes stay in-tack for at most 3 months. One guest got to try it and the results were naturally looking thick, long and curly eyelashes!

Feeling Sexy

How does one feel sexy? Does one feel sexy if she has the bumpers to show off? Or if a guy has six-pack abs? Feeling sexy is especially hard for a post-pregnancy mother like me. I have gotten a lot weight when I was pregnant and I’m finding it hard to shake the fat off. Gone are the days of my slim physique.

Well, At least with the pregnancy, my breasts naturally gained size and for that I won’t need a New Jersey breast augmentation anymore. But for those who think having a well-endowed bosom, you may want to check out if this will work for you. I have also heard of other procedures to enhance the body figure like the tummy tuck and butt lift. For the guys, there’s even this procedure to add mass to his you know what.

Ethel Booba – Karma Chameleon

Ethel Booba is on her show-off mode again. Being one of the housemates of 2nd Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity edition, this girl has got the nation’s attention yet again. After her very much publicized telenovela-like (but ugly and tasteless) love-hate relationship with Alex Crisano, the comedienne has been making headlines with all these facial plastic surgery done to her. But in fairness, she looked better. Not that she didn’t look good; actually, I think the surgeries enhanced her beauty. I think the show’s producers wanted someone who’s like a counterpart of Keana Reeves of the first PBB Celebrity edition. (She was the Big Winner). Ethel’s bubbly and even stupid antics will lighten up her fellow housemates and the viewers. But the question is, will she show her true colors in front of the cameras? Well, as the cliché goes, it’s for her to know and for us to find out.
