Cu4tro Cantos

The Four Songs of Life

Cu4tro Cantos is the new Ala Eh Blog. Since I cannot provide pure Batangueño articles, I decided a revamp of the site, which I think is more appropriate. Cu4tro Cantos refers to the four members of the Cantos Family. In spanish, Cuatro means Four, and Cantos means Songs.

Batangueños do exist in the Internet

Who says they do not?

Months back, I was trying to find an active online community of Batangueños but haven’t found one. So I created this blog and tried to call out for every Batangueño to start signing up and make this a home. There were 15 users who registered but nobody has contributed a single post. And later on they totally vanished again. (I guess). Then I decided to make this my personal blog.

Grammar. Pronunciation. Accent. Phrasing. Blending.

I mentioned on my previous post that I am taking a training on Basic English Skills. It’s now on its 3rd day and I say, I am learning from it. All the things that I already know were refreshed and many new things were even added. The title tells a few and let’s try to add some more next time. I’m talking about the post. It’s my 2nd time to have plain blank. Wow.

Weekstart

My work schedule wasn’t quite interesting last week. I was on night shift again and it was too much boring on my workplace. Imagine working alone over night, without anyone to talk to, without music to listen to, without having ‘midnight lunch’. I did not want to go out alone for something to eat. I just had a couple Chips Ahoy! cookies to fill my stomach, and lots of water. That’s how the past week has gone for me.

A couple of months ago, I took a training over the phone, that will measure how good in English, I am. There were very easy questions and true or false statements combined with reading comprehension and grammar. I know that I answered most of the items correctly, it’s just that I my voice maybe wasn’t very clear or the environment where I took the training was a little bit noisy.

Cut it short, today was the first day of my Basic English Training. Nice enough to start my new week.

How to Configure SE K608i 3G for Windows XP

After so many calls I made with Smart Wireless agents, after all opened tickets were closed unresolved, I finally got my 3G working. And I figured it out myself with the help of a lady on the phone whom I forgot her name. Who are you again?

Because I got fed-up of those many 24-hours call waiting suggestions I heard from Smart’s Customer Care? Agents, I decided to not call them again regarding this issue. I know, that there’s nothing I will get from them. I doubt that they know what to do with my problem or maybe they just ignore the problem. I even don’t believe that they even tried to call me when they said they did except the one missed call I saw the other day after my nth follow up.

The last time I spoke with a CSA, she suggested me to follow phone instructions. She thinks that I didn’t do that? She explained some several other steps and some configuration settings idea which I think I already knew but I still listened to her. And while listening, an idea started to formulate on my mind. Thanks for your time telling those things. You surely helped me with my problem. If I did not let you talk and talk and talk, I might probably have opened another nth number of tickets that will be closed unresolved again.

The Coco Fruit. Childhood Chronicles Part II

The photo was taken during my last visit
in Batangas at
our Captain’s rest house on
a hill.

Another part of my childhood, I am sharing with you now. This part is called, ‘The Coco Fruit’. From the most useful tree, The Coco Tree’… that bears the largest nut, ‘The Coconut. Well, one of the largest nuts.

One of our favorite hangout during weekends, apart from the dust and sea, is the top of the coco tree. We don’t have our own coconut farm; just trying our luck on some others farms. :D One of our favorite target is Kakang Bina’s farm.

Why?
