Happy Valentines Day!

Today we celebrate the day for the hearts. To most of us it is special. Because today we celebrate love. Love hurts, love is blind, love conquers all, love is just a game or whatever you call it. It’s not important. What matters most is that you appreciate your ability to feel love in your heart. Love is very important for people to have. Because it’s what makes a person grow even better.

Today, let your love ones know your true feelings for them. Let your hearts shout those three sweetest words that please their ear. Send them chocolates or flowers or cake.

Ways to brighten up your breakfast!

Breakfast for me is the most important meal of the day. For my family, its the meal where me, Aldrin and the get the kids get together. Aldrin goes to the office so he eats lunch there and most of the time, the kids are already asleep when he gets home. I take the breakfast meal seriously, I want the kids and of course my husband to really enjoy their breakfast. Aside from preparing meals that are delicious and sure to give boost their energy for the start of the day, I also like the food to be presentable.

Even if the dish is just simple, the presentation makes a lot of difference.

And so, here are some of the breakfast meals that I’ve prepared for my family. The one below was taken this morning. I used a small rounded container to mold the fried rice, topped the luncheon meat with a pineapple ring, the juice of the pineapple will be soaked by the luncheon meat which will also sweeten the usual salty luncheon meat. Then as an accent, I made dots using ketchup. Viola! A masterpiece!

My new career!

It has been 2 weeks already since my last day at work for an IT company. I have a new job now. A job that I was, I mean my husband and I are both apprehensive to take at first but in the end were both whole-hearted and excited by the choice we made.

I am talking about my being a stay-at-home Mom. We had yaya troubles for some time and so we decided for me to take a break from the corporate world and be the one to take care of the kids and my husband and the house too.

I have been posting about my random thoughts in Facebook. I will also posting them here plus some other stuff too like my very own recipes! I already have a line-up of my Recipe posts, so please watch out. I hope to include pictures of me actually doing the cooking. :)
That’s it for now, it’s kids merienda time. I will be posting about this too. :)

My first Bridal Fair:The 4th Philippine Wedding Congress

Since last April when Aldrin and I decided to have our church wedding next year, I’ve been browsing the internet for wedding tips, themes and whatnot. I also have been searching for Bridal fairs that we can attend to meet wedding suppliers and get ideas on the latest wedding trends.

Today we went to Megamall to check out The 4th Philippine Wedding Congress. It’s my first bridal fair and I never thought it could be so Fun! Just as soon as we entered the hall, we were greeted with a free photo shoot at the FotoLoco booth. We gamely posed for our free photocard. Aldrin instantly decided that the photo booth should be our ultimate wedding souvenir, hmmm… we’ll see. ;)

A Broken Bone and A Broken Heart

I would like to share with you a short essay/article written by a good friend of mine. It talks about physical and emotional pain and how to get over it. I hope you get inspired by her story.

A Broken Bone and A Broken Heart

by e R L y

I’ve had my bone broken. And it was so painful. I got bumped by a car and the next thing I knew I was inside the car of a stranger and my ankle is really aching. I don’t know what happened next because I was unconscious due to so much pain. When I opened my eyes, I realized I was in the Emergency room but the pain on my left ankle did not fade.

And that was when the doctor came in holding the X-ray result. A bone on my left ankle was cracked and dislocated. And that is where the pain is coming. I hardly slept that night because of all the worries and the pain that I had. What if I cannot walk again was the first thing that came out of my mind. Every hour, I am complaining of the pain. And my sister couldn’t do anything. I just have to wait for the operation.

I wish the same thing happens when you have a broken heart. That you will endure the pain overnight until the doctors come for the operation and everything will be taken care of. Anesthesia will make you feel numb so that you can not feel the pain as the surgeon cuts your skin and gives remedy to the broken heart. After the operation, nurses will give you pain reliever and you can now sleep and relax.
