Dried Pusit Fried Rice
Here is another breakfast dish that will surely brighten up anyone’s day.
Aldrin and I both love dried pusit, we can finish off one 500-gram pack in just one sitting. With sukang may bawang at sili na sawsawan, you just can’t go wrong. I specially love Pinakurat or the hot and spicy Datu Puti Suka.

Fried Dried Pusit
I used dried pusit to jazz up our ordinary sinangag. It’s as easy as 1-2-3, and one of those that you can call 10-minute kitchen wonders, like one of my favorite local cooking shows, QuickFire in CH.11.
So here is the recipe for the Dried Pusit Fried Rice:

Dried Pusit Fried Rice
Ingredients:
- 200 grams of Dried Pusit, fried
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 2 cups of fried rice
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tbsp of suka (whichever variant/brand you want)
- salt and pepper to taste
Procedure:
- Pat the fried pusit with paper towels to drain the excess oil. Cut the Dried Pusit into thin strips.
- Reduce the oil to just about a teaspoon in the pan where you fried the dried pusit. You will use the same pan to cook the fried rice.
- Saute the garlic until the color changes to golden brown.
- Add the rice and toss.
- Pour in the beaten eggs and toss some more. This will give your fried rice a more sticky texture. Or you can also make ahead of time the usual scrambled eggs or flat fried egg and cut it into strips. Then toss this to your fried rice.
- Lastly, season with a dash of salt and pepper and drizzle with your favorite vinegar.
Plating: You can also drizzle vinegar when you have plated the rice. Put a cup of rice in a plate. Drizzle the vinegar around the rice. Put some of the Pusit strips on top and some parsley or siling haba (seeds removed and cut into diagonal strips). Voila! You have that super fine plating for a simple fried rice!
Hope you enjoy this recipe. This is perfect for the Christmas morning. Pusit Fried Rice with Longganisa Hamonado style and some that Tsokolate Eh from Batangas. Yum yum!
Merry Christmas everyone!
