I’m better a Car Mechanic
Wow. I don’t believe I could save 2.5K for a car aircon switch. Our car has been literally a “hot car” for about 2 weeks. The aircon switch suddenly broke one time we went for grocery. But I never initially thought it has something to do with the switch. I heard something strange from the blower area, which has been the root cause before, and I thought it again broke. I tried fixing it right that night but was not able to. The next day, I brought the car to a nearby repair shop and traced the root cause at the switch. It’s really the culprit.
We removed the switch, and right away, I head out to all surplus shops I know to get a replacement. I did not find for 2 weeks of searching. I heard it costs 2.5K Php if you get it from the car dealer. The switch looks a little burnt already. That’s why I did not think twice of opening it. I crack it open and found out that its parts are not in their proper places anymore. It seems I was tough on him before. Cut this short, I cleaned it, I rub the metal parts against another metal, I fixed the popping bearing, I placed all the parts exactly where they should and then without a professional technician beside me, I tested it and it worked better than before. Sweet.
Now I saved some grands, eh? There was another problem that popped out though when I test-drove it. Idling was too high when aircon is on. Ironically, there was ongoing car promo at the place I stopped and had a couple of quotations for some of their model cars and found out we might not be able to afford one yet. probate loan is not an option. Anyway, when I get home again, I fixed the idling problem. And it’s never been better.
Now I’m planning a career path change. I think I’m more interested on fixing car problems now than fixing software issues.
