Kitchen Care: How to wash the dishes.
It’s been a while since I last posted about household chores. And it’s quite loooooong. I think I’m missing it so I’m here again with another helpful knowledge to share.
Washing the dishes is one of the common routines in the kitchen. You may say it’s easy to do. Yes. You just need to know how.
Like other chores such as washing clothes, I’ve been doing this task since grade school. Back then, it’s quite uninteresting to me since I have to fetch water to use, and besides, I want to play with other kids.
Doing this taks nowadays is not that difficult. And it’s not difficult at all. It’s still quite uninteresting but I never refuse doing it. And I have a technique on my own that I want to share.
- Arrange & Segregate. Before turning on the your faucet, make sure that the plates, glasses, spoon and forks, etc. are arranged properly. Larger plates at the bottom, smaller at the top. Though, this is not very important since you will mess this up again when you rinse. If you have a more spacious sink, you can have separate arrangement for plates of same sizes. If you have pots and pans on queue, wash them after you are done with the others. I usually prefer to have a second batch for them. It also helps maximizing the space.
- Rinse. I usually start with plates, then glasses and lastly, spoon and forks. Be sure to arrange them again after rinsing.
- Clean. Before I start this task, I make it sure first that the sponge is clean. I wash it thoroughly with dishwashing soap before applying it to kitchenware. When it’s already clean, I then start with spoons and forks. They are the ones with direct contacts to our mouth so I apply the sponge to them while it’s in its cleanest. Then with the glasses and lastly with the plates.
- Rinse again. This is the last part of the washing. I know this is a little against conserving water but I usually leave the faucet on while rinsing. I think that’s why it is called rinsing. And I feel more comforatable that the ware is clean.
After all were done, wash the sponge again before leaving it. I hope this makes sense. If you guys have a better way then let me know so I can try it.
