The Four Songs of Life

Cu4tro Cantos is the new Ala Eh Blog. Since I cannot provide pure Batangueño articles, I decided a revamp of the site, which I think is more appropriate. Cu4tro Cantos refers to the four members of the Cantos Family. In spanish, Cuatro means Four, and Cantos means Songs.

Estancia Tagaytay

The most comforting place I have been so far this summer season is nothing but Estancia Tagaytay. It was a summer treat to us from Honey’s mom, it was unplanned but we really enjoyed it. It was something unforgettable to me, and probably to everyone as well.

If someone would ask me of a place to stay in Tagaytay this summer, I would highly recommend Estancia. In fact, I am writing a short review of the place, although I am not into writing reviews. Not yet concise but I still hope you’ll get what I say. Honey was supposed to edit this review before I post it but I think she already forgot about this. So I am posting this, raw as a green mango, so bear with me. Thanks.

Accessibility

Located just around the area of Olivarez Tagaytay, Estancia can be easily accessible to tourists coming from Manila. There are two options to go there, one is via South Luzon Express way (SLEX) – Sta. Rosa Laguna or via Coastal Road – Aguinaldo Highway Cavite. Why go Estancia? Because it’s really practical since you don’t have to drive along the busy stretch and will reach the place hassle-free.

The Place

Estancia Tagaytay has an overlooking view on Taal Lake and Volcano from its restaurant. Although, the view is quite too far and the angle of the volcano is not too good it is still enjoyable. And to have it more enjoyable, you can pass through the hanging bridge and enjoy the view from there while it sways. You can peek on the gallery for some photos I took with my SLR camera. (Super Low-Res).

Facilities

Estancia Tagaytay has two adult pools. One is located within the hotel area and the other one is in the open, perfect for everyone to enjoy. They also have jaccuzzis to relax your tired body and experience the feeling of a true vacation.

The room we stayed in is huge. The bathroom is spacious and clean. I can compare it to Fraser’s Place in Makati.

The function room is huge. The kitchen is also huge. Huge enough to throw a party with friends, or a family reunion down to fouth generation. Just outside it is the recreation area, where they have two billiard tables a pingpong table, and a dart board. Access to the facilities is free for guests.

Across the balcony is a stairway down to the ceramic landscape. They have two stone bridges there leading you to the small grotto. On the other direction is a path to the playground. There are swings and a children adventure maze (like the one in Jolibee), which Sam enjoyed.

The restaurant is nice and clean. The food is on per-order basis and the prices are very affordable. They also have videoke bar at the restaurant area where every guest can’t help to stop by after every meal. It’s sing-to-sawa all the time. My first turn was Michelle, back-to-back with Hello. And right after our turn, the next guy who waited for his turn sang Michelle and Hello as well. I don’t have a nice voice but I can bet, I’m better than him. :p

The Crew/Staff/GRO/Waiters/Whatever

One of the most important asset of Hotel businesses is how their staff treat their guests, and in Estancia, they value us. I never looked at myself being treated like a boss- but I felt it there. They were all very courteous to me like they want to say “Sir, ang gwapo mo namane”. Were they asking for something? I’m not good on guessing so please help.

All in all, the experience I had with Estancia Tagaytay was very close to perfection.

This is not a paid review. Nobody would care paying for this.

Oceans Park. Almost.

The Working Moms Organization in Accenture is having a “field trip” to Ocean’s Park today. Honey had signed up for that event, so she gets free ticket for herself and Sam. She’s bringing me, Bel and Ley but we have to pay for our own tickets.

Unluckily, Ley got fever last Thursday, fever gone Friday morning after we brought her to the hospital, and then back again in the afternoon. 12:00 AM Saturday when I checked Ley’s temperature, it was 40.5 C. She still looked fine but we still hurried to the hospital in the middle of the night. We spent our night at the ER and the Ocean’s Park trip is ruined.

We still tried though, but it’s really too late. Ticket distribution is until 11 AM only and we knew that we really won’t catch it anymore. So we just changed route to Alabang Town Center. And right now, we’re here at TGI Fridays, ATC, having our lunch…

Wi-Fi at TGIF is FREE. Cool.

McDonalds News: Contaminated Egg McMuffin

This is what I saw in my inbox this morning. Nowadays, we really can’t be sure of which food we eat is clean and which is not. I guess we all should just be very careful ourselves. You may also want to read about my McDonalds’ Helmet entry.

Estancia Tagaytay, close to perfect

We are currently here at Estancia Tagaytay and so far, there is not much I dislike in this place. One thing I like in fact is the very strong 3g signal. It is full all the time and access to the internet is fast. I am blogging using my SE phone since I did not bring my eee pc. I never thought we will be here… and overnight.

Full review of the place coming up next…
