Trying the Music Blog. Unrocked!
I heard that b5media has opened another channel on their network and it’s about music. I am a music lover and I thought I should try this. Who knows, this could be my blogging luck. I love every genre. From slow to fast ones, soft to rock. I just love every band and artist. And I hope I’m not late.
I can’t think of the best topic as an entry for this promising opportunity. So I guess I just go with the most recent music experience I had.
As my shift slowly ended last Saturday morning, I was feeling quite sleepy. I thought of playing some Rock music but it might also be disturbing since I am too serious arranging the status report that I need to finish. I thought of playing love songs, but on my iPod, they are not love songs anymore. I have ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’ but it’s by ‘Me First and the Gimme gimmes’. Does anybody know that band? Before Spongecola did that ‘Crazy For You’ rock version, there’s already a lot of underground bands doing that style. And they are cool for me.
And I just decided not pressing that play button. But somewhere behind me, I heard rock music. But they are not rock. I mean, if they can turn love songs to rock, they can also unrock. You know what I mean? And I got interested.
‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’. We all know that Curt Cobain composed it and Nirvana performed it. ‘Creep’. Radiohead made it a hit. ‘Yellow’. One of my favorite songs in the Contagion Collection played by Cold Play. And many more.
It was a new style and it was the first time I heard those kind of songs. They are cool. I actually thought that those are the original versions. And because it sounds more classical, I thought the bands mentioned above revived them. You really have to hear it.
The artist I am talking about is Richard Cheese. Again, I don’t know if you ever heard about this guy before but he is good. Turning those rock music to jazz is pretty impressive. And the idea is clever.
Alright. If you really can’t understand what I am trying to say, then listen. I have sample downloadables here (trimmed versions). Go ahead and let me know whether it impress you as well or not.
